King's College London Children of UPBEAT Diet Study
Finding participants for a follow-up trial, a decade after the first
The UK Pregnancy Better Eating and Activity Trial (UPBEAT) was a randomised controlled trial of a lifestyle intervention in obese pregnant women which aimed to improve maternal metabolic health. We worked with the study team on the Children of UPBEAT trial, which was aming to find the children of these women, 10 years on. We recommended a campaign to saturate the geographical locations of the women who had taken part previously.
We ran recruitment campaigns on Facebook, Instagram and Google. A total of 45 people expressed their interest in the follow up trial. We were pleased with a cost of £12.33 per delivered participant, considering the tough eligibility criteria.
