University College London Red Light Myopia Vision Study

Investigating a red light that can slow down the worsening of short-sightedness in children

The Red Light Myopia Study, run by University College London, is researching whether wearing special red-light glasses twice a day for 3 minutes can slow down the worsening of short-sightedness in children

The study team reached out to us to help them find potentially eligible participants. We utilised our digital marketing knowhow to find parents of children aged 5-12 with myopia in both eyes. To take part in the study, participants needed to visit the hospital clinic in person. To facilitate this, we displayed the ads to people living within a commutable radius to the hospital.

In just four weeks of advertising across Facebook and Instagram, we showed the ads on 155,566 occasions, helping the research team randomise 20 eligible children.
