Stanford University SEAL Eczema Study

Proactive treatment for infants with eczema

The third SEAL study site we worked with was at Stanford University. The SEAL Study was comparing whether proactive skin care (applying creams to your child every day instead of waiting for skin problems to appear) is better than routine reactive skin care (waiting for occurrences of bad eczema before applying standard treatments) in preventing and/or minimising eczema. The Stanford team began working with us following the success of our campaigns with the teams at the University of Chicago and King’s College London. We focused the campaign on Meta and Google, targeting parents of babies aged 0-12 weeks old and living with dry skin or eczema. The study team randomised 17 babies from our campaign, helping them complete recruitment.
