About the study

This study is testing the affects of a known drug called Rapamune on muscle ageing in older adults.  This is a 16-week study during which you will be asked to take a daily dose of either Rapamune or a placebo, and to follow a resistance-training program.

You may be eligible to take part in this study if: 

  • You're a man aged 55 or older

  • You're in good health

  • You're able to travel to Royal Derby Hospital for study visits
