A series of research studies have indicated that a well-known dissociative medication, when medically administered at a low-dose, and under supervision, might help people with both Anorexia and Depression (e.g., Schwartz et al., 2021).
Together with people with lived experience, we are conducting the first study of it’s kind to test the feasibility of using oral capsules of the medication vs. placebo, to treat depression in 60 people with Anorexia.
In this initial feasibility study, we want to find out whether people with Anorexia and Depression are interested in trying the oral capsules of either low-dose capsules or placebo, under close medical supervision, and sharing their feedback.
The results from this initial study will help to shape the next stage of this research.
If you decide to take part, you will be invited to attend 13 study visits in total, including 10 clinic visits and 3 online visits over a period of 6 months (the dosing period is 4 weeks).
You will also be invited to take part in optional interviews and to keep a digital diary of your feedback throughout the study
You will be compensated for your time and travel costs.
