THE FAMILY SAFETY STUDY

Are you part of a military-connected family?

Researchers at the Uniformed Services University are running a short, anonymous online survey to learn how military-connected families make decisions about safety at home, including whether they keep firearms and how they store them.

This study doesn't promote or oppose gun ownership. The goal is to understand the choices families make, not to judge them.

Who can take part?

You may be eligible if you:

Are at least 18 years old

Are serving or have served in the military (active duty, National Guard, Reserve or veteran)

are the spouse or adult child of someone who has served

Live with at least one family member

Compensation

As a thank you for your time, you will receive $25 when you complete the survey. This is paid onto a prepaid debit card, which is mailed to your US address.

If you work for the Department of War, you can only be paid for taking part outside of your duty hours.

The survey takes 10 to 20 minutes. Your answers are anonymous, and you can skip any question or stop at any time. By taking part, you could help shape safety programs and resources that support families like yours. When you finish, you'll also get links to helpful family safety information.
