How does your body respond to different foods?

Researchers at Imperial College London want to find out! They are conducting a study to find out how foods made with high-resistant starch pea flour affect blood glucose.

What happens in the study?

What happens in the study?

Participants will:

  • Eat foods made with:

    • high-resistant starch pea flour

    • normal pea flour

    • common market products

  • Consume these foods at home, alongside their usual diet, during three separate 28-day periods

  • Wear a continuous glucose monitor during each 28-day period to track blood sugar levels

Food will be provided free of charge and participant expenses will be covered.

Participants will attend a total of 1 screening visit and 6 study visits at:


Imperial College Clinical Research Facility, Hammersmith Hospital, London W12 0NN


  • 1 screening visit to check eligibility

  • 6 study visits — before and after each 28-day period (2 visits per phase)

You may be eligible to take part if you:


  • Are between 18 and 65 years old

  • Have a BMI between 20 and 30

  • Are able to travel to Hammersmith Hospital in London for study visits
