Are you a new mother living with insomnia?

Researchers are conducting a study looking at two potential treatments for insomnia. If your insomnia is not caused by your baby waking in the night, or by your partner, you may be eligible to take part.

Who can take part?

You may be eligible to take part in this study if:

  • your baby is 4-12 months old

  • your baby is your first child

  • you've been having sleep problems for at least 3 months

  • your sleep problems are not caused by your baby or your partner

What's involved?

What's involved?

If you decide to take part, you'll be randomly assigned to one of three groups and will receive either:

  • a behavioural sleep management intervention

  • a behavioural aerobic exercise intervention

  • treatment as usual

We will then compare the effectiveness of the three treatments 6-months after the study.

Study timeframe

The study will take place over six weeks and will involve:

  • assessments at the start of the study and at 3 and 6 months after the study

  • two in-person visits

  • two video visits plus a booster video session at 3 months after the study
