The T1DRA study aims to find out how many adults in the UK are at increased risk of developing type 1 diabetes. If you're interested in taking part in this study, read the participant information sheet, then click below to complete our consent survey.

Who can take part?

You may be eligible to take part if you:

  • Are between the ages of 18 and 70

  • Live in the United Kingdom

AND

  • Are not immunocompromised

  • Are not taking blood thinners

  • Do not have a diagnosis of type 1 diabetes

What happens in the study?

  • If you decide to take part, you will be sent a finger prick blood test in the post

  • If the study finds that you’re at risk of developing type 1 diabetes, you will be monitored and given information about what symptoms to look out for to prevent you from becoming seriously unwell

  • You will also receive information on any new clinical trials or treatments that may delay or prevent the condition from developing
