The VENTO trial is now testing a new, not yet approved drug for people with bronchiectasis. It’s designed to work like the body’s natural infection-fighting proteins and may help reduce inflammation in the airways, protect the lungs, and make breathing easier.

About the study

If you decide to take part, you will be randomly assigned to one of three groups where you may receive:

Study Drug dosage level 1 OR

Study Drug dosage level 2 (higher than dosage level 1) OR

A placebo that looks like the study drug but contains no active ingredients

You have a 3 in 5 chance of being placed in a group that receives the drug.

Who can take part

You may be eligible to take part if you're between the ages of 18 and 85 and have a diagnosis of bronchiectasis that has been confirmed by a CT scan.

Timeframe

There is a 28-day screening process to confirm eligibility, followed by a 48-week treatment period in which you will be randomly assigned to one of the three study groups. During the 24-week follow-up period you will have some clinical exams and lab tests.
